Her Swagger is Jagger. The New York Times have dubbed her “feather light, innocuous, and the future.” She’s claimed two Number One singles. And she’s ‘the kinda girl to put Dub on the Track’. Apparently. Cher Lloyd, X-Factor’s first singer-come-rapper (if ‘rapper’ is a loose description for sassy rhythmic speaker…), is taking her Swagger across the country in her first full UK tour. The skinny pop singer has been hitting venues up and down the country since March 2012, and on Sunday 15 took her ‘Superhero’ self down to O2 Shepherds Bush Empire to perform for her ‘Over The Moon’ London fans. She’ll be performing tracks from her debut album: ‘Sticks + Stones’ – which was released in July 2011. It features two Number One’s, ‘Swagger Jagger’ and ‘With Ur Love’, with Mike Posner – her first track on the album is called ‘Grow Up’ and features the insanely speedily BPM rapping, Busta Rhymes. She is best known for her stint on the X-Factor, where she placed fourth, just short of the Final – and for being a Cheryl Cole mini-me. Her sound is even compared to an early Lily Allen – but presumably it is hard to pinpoint her likeness, when the Malvern girl composes such an offbeat mix of pop, rap, R&B, dubstep and ballads… The ‘beautiful people’ that are her fans told WinkBall; what makes Cher Lloyd such a unique performer, and what they love about her.
