Boxing ABA Semi-Finals at Dagenham Park School

Event Date: 03/05/2011

The Southern round of the ABA semi finals took place on Saturday, 30th April 2011, at Dagenham Park Church of England School. London had an impressive ten boxers still in the competition going into Saturdays event, with nine boxing and one walkover (Finchleys Anthony Joshua at Super Heavy) . WinkBall citizen video reporters Tara, Sadekur, Zaid and Scott were speaking to the boxers, coaches and spectators about the tournament. The day started well for the London 10, with Charlie Edwards getting past his opponent, Marcus Hodgson, with relative ease. Edwards looked too sharp and experienced for the Launceston man as he gave him two standing counts and dropped him, causing the referee to stop the bout in the second round. The ABAE is currently geared towards delivering the Whole Sport Plan, which has been agreed with Sport England to provide a Strategy for Growth from 2009 - 2013, for the next Olympic cycle, towards and beyond London 2012. Friends and family who came to support them also shared their opinion with us on what they like about the sport. It was a day of top quality action, check out the vibe from the videos below!
