Ani DiFranco, a Buffalo, New Yorker, started playing Beatles covers at local pubs and busking at the tender age of nine. In 1989 she started her own record label, Righteous Babe Records, released her first self titled studio album- and the rest they say is history. Her music has been described as edgy with perceptive, gifted lyrics and charged with tenacious guitar rhythms that allow you to fill the chasm of your soul. This talented, independent and radical artist was at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Thursday 27th January 2011.
