Saturday 16th July 2011 sees Day Two of the Brazilica Festival, Liverpool’s own slice of Brazilian culture which in turns promises to be the largest event of its kind in Britain. Launched by Liverpool Carnival Company and Orb Events, the festival is an exciting addition to the Carnival Company’s highly regarded and heavily attended carnival parade. The parade itself launched in 2008 as part of Liverpool’s Capital of Culture and has gone from strength to strength ever since. On offer this afternoon in Williamson Square is the Brazilian Soccer Zone which is run by AFC Liverpool, offering Brazilian style soccer coaching for the children culminating in a Brazilian street style football competition. The main stage is playing host to visiting samba schools, samba dance professionals and live sets from Brazilian and local DJ’s. On top of that, there are many Brazilian food and drinks stalls to really get Liverpool in the mood. WinkBall reporters Sean, Andrew and Tom are in amongst the crowds to soak up the vibe and see how you are all enjoying your slice of Brazil, here on your doorstep.
