The Wombats are an indie rock band who formed in Liverpool, UK, in 2006. The three band members met in 2003 at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and soon became good friends. They started jamming together and shortly after released their debut single, “Girls, Boys and Marsupials”. A year later they released their first studio album, The Wombats Proudly Present: a Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation, which peaked at No. 11 in the UK charts. It has been described as a buoyant, joyful, gloriously catchy pop album with witty lyrics. Things have moved on since their first album. Their second album, The Modern Glitch, is darker and more reflective, resulting in a more honest album. WinkBall citizen video reporters were at the O2 Brixton Academy asking the fans what they think about The Wombats, how they would describe the band’s music and if there are any songs they would like to hear tonight.
