Josh Groban at the Hammersmith Apollo

Event Date: 12/10/2011

Joshua Winslow Groban, born 1981 in L.A., is the son of Russian and Polish immigrants. By 17 he decided to pursue his singing career and was introduced to the Grammy award-winning producer/arranger David Foster and future manager Brian Avnet. He worked as a rehearsal singer for David Foster on high profile projects such as the 1999 Grammy awards and a duet with Celine Dion. From here on, his career has propelled him to being one of the biggest selling artists on the planet. The American singer-songwriter, musician, actor, and record producer is now a certified multi-platinum album seller and was charted as the number-one best-selling artist in the USA with over 21 million records sold there and 24 million sold worldwide. He has produced 5 albums in his career: Josh Groban (2001), Closer (2003), Awake (2006), Noel (2007) and his most recent, Illuminations (2010), which is produced by another legend in the industry, Rick Rubin. This performance at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo is the result of a hugely welcomed tour of the world in which Josh wanted to give a lot back to the fans. WinkBall citizen reporters were at the Hammersmith Apollo to interview those fans before and after the gig to see how well Josh had fulfilled his promise.
