Alice started dancing when she was 3 and says that she really is enjoying the South African crowds because there is such energy. She also says the Teatro is a beautiful venue. Alice has really enjoyed performing in ballet galas like this one, as well as in Russia. She doesn't have a favourite dream part but looks forward to growing from each role she undertakes.
It was South Africa’s turn to welcome a galaxy of visiting ballet stars for the International Ballet Gala, at the Teatro in Montecasino, Johannesburg on 9 July 2011. This was the first time ballet was seen on the Teatro stage, and was an exquisite first time it was! Excited ballet enthusiasts could see the incredible talents of Alys Shee (Canada), Brooklyn Mack (USA), Elza Leimane (Latvia) as well as Johannesburg-born Andile Ndlovu. The event had audiences cheering the ballet stars as they set the stage alight with dancing, both sophisticated and powerful.
