Avi thinks it will be a great spectacle and a nice opportunity for all athletes from around the world to compete and join together to enhance the experience. As a handball player he's looking forward to that event the most and hopes it will become more popular in England as a result of the olympics.

Olympic Games: One Year To Go

Event Date: 28/07/2011

Six years has past since Trafalgar Square celebrated London’s unexpected triumph, winning the rights to host the world’s biggest sporting event. On Wednesday 27th July 2011 crowds gathered again to mark the countdown of the remaining year. Speeches from David Cameron and Boris Johnson proudly declared the Olympics as ‘on time’ and ‘on budget’ with several stadiums already complete. Present was Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee, who traditionally invite athletes to participate a year before the games commence. WinkBall video reporters were at Trafalgar Square asking attendees what they are most looking forward to about the Olympics, if they think London will be a good host and what their favourite Olympic moments are. We also spoke to past gold medal Olympic athletes Dame Kelly Holmes and Linford Christie who gave us their thoughts with a year to go! If you want your say, please post on our wall below!
