The Longest Hug World Record at St Pancreas

Event Date: 20/01/2012

London’s iconic St Pancras station is a place you’d consider has had its fair share of emotional embraces; the station was finished in 1868. That’s over a century and a half of tearful good byes and over joyed welcome homes, a whole lot of a hugging an' a kissin’! Well, before sunrise on the 19th January in the shadow of ‘The Meeting Place’ a bronze sculpture by Paul Day 6 couples took to each others arms and accepted the challenge of the worlds longest hug. Their embrace must last longer than 24hrs and 34 mins, if they can hold on till then the record will their grasp. The challengers are, military choir wife Luna is hugging husband Corporal Brian Tullet. Mayella Reynolds cuddles Stephanie Beattie, Mayella is all about hugging being the founder member of randomhuggers.com. Xiang holds tight to husband Andrew. Emily Jane Brown embraces fellow reporter Rose Manley both from London 360. Last is stand up comedian Sanderson Jones clinches fireman friend Mikey. Winkball citizen video reporters Matt and Zoe went hand in hand to The Meeting Place to talk to the cuddling couples and find out how they’ll bear up to the pressure of standing in one spot hugging for a Guinness world record, and also ask the traveling public and supports a few firm but cuddly questions......'Who would you most like to hug. Is there a celebrity would you would like to hug, and what has been you best hug?'
