Vans, the original Action Sports, Art, Music and Street Culture brand – legendary manufacturers of ‘Authentic’ deck shoes, skateboarding shoes and BMX shoes – are officially launching their new store on Saturday 14 April in Camden Town. The shop has been open since March 30 – opposite Camden Town underground station, full of the best selection of Vans footwear, apparel and accessories. Plenty of events are going on at the north London store opening, including Berlin-based graphic designer and illustrator Tim Wolff (aka timrobot), who will be painting live in the store window between 10am and 6pm. He was asked already to customize some of their shoes for exhibitions around the world, including the US and Beijing. Eager shoppers in need of some super sneakers can take advantage of a 10% discount off store buys between 2-6pm, as well as be entered for a chance to win free Vans giveaway items. And trust that it is worth sticking around ‘til 4pm, because that is when attendees will be aurally blessed with a 30-minute acoustic set in store from singer/songwriter – known to rock Vans shoes in his time – Charlie Simpson. The former Fightstar singer (and guitarist/keyboard player) is set to perform tracks from his debut solo album ‘Young Pilgrim’, and will surely attract a crowd all on his own. Vans has grown from success to success across the UK and Europe, and this convenient store location – near plenty of skate parks for the action sports fans – is ideal.
