On Thursday 23rd February Ben Howard performed at the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire to lovers of folk and acoustic music. Ben Howard is a young British singer-songwriter who like Ed Sheeran is gradually accruing devoted following by word-of-mouth. Ben was raised up in a home where music was part of the family’s life and has been influenced by several musicians like Bob Dylan, Nina Simone and John Martyn. His gigs have been described as more like prayer meetings and has an odd way of playing his guitar. His debut album ‘Every Kingdom’ released in October 2011 debuted at number seven on the UK album chart. Favourites of fans includes ‘Keep Your Head Up’, ‘The Wolves’, ‘Old Pine’, ‘The Fear’, ‘Promise’ and ‘Only Love’. He just recently went on tour with Xavier Rudd in Australia.
