In the 1970s he shook the London pub scene with his punk rock gigs. In the eighties he broke out the soul music. He started a classical spin in the nighties and made appearances on everything from Glastonbury to Sesame Street since then. And now is your chance to catch him live; Elvis Costello on tour with The Imposters! Costello’s music may have started in his homeland of England, but his massive support from fans in the U.S. was enough for him to relocate there. You might remember his famous hits like ‘She’ (featured in Notting Hill’s film soundtrack) and long-time Brit favourites like ‘Pump it Up’. Now he’s crossing the Atlantic and paying Europe a visit. So break in the summer tunes with this Grammy-award winning musician that has over 30 studio albums to his name! With such a diverse musical background, you never know what to expect –other than superb music. After being in the business for over 40 years, there’s no doubt that such a talented singer/songwriter knows how to put on a great show. WinkBall reporters went down to Elvis Costello and The Imposters’ gig at Royal Albert Hall on 23rd May 2012 to interview fans after the sold out gig. Here are their reviews.
