Pick Me Up: Contemporary Graphic Art Fair 2012

Event Date: 27/03/2012

Somerset House is hosting the first of the now annual contemporary graphic art fairs: Pick Me Up 2012. This will be the biggest edition PMU has displayed in its history. You can find a host of the best new work from all over the UK and the world, from screen prints, to illustrations and paintings. Don’t fear being priced out of your favourite bits – prices start from £10 – but the best bits are edging £100, though they are arguably worth it! Print Club London offer some standout pieces, particularly Ben Brown, Mateeus Acoli and Rose Stallard. It isn’t just an exhibition though; in addition to the contemporary graphic art is a series of workshops, screenings, and performances to get involved with to make the fair fully inclusive. What is it about contemporary art that has drawn the visitors to Somerset House? Is it for one artist in particular – or if not, perhaps they have discovered a new favourite series of work like we have? (That’s you, Rose Stallard!)
