Stand Up and Rock at the Hammersmith Apollo

With a mix of comedy, music and musical comedy, the Hammersmith Apollo played host to charity musical and comedy event Stand Up and Rock on Tuesday 20th December 2011. With a host of top music and comedy names on the bill such as The Modfather himself Paul Weller , Blur guitarist Graham Coxon, comedienne Jo Brand, comedic pianist Tim Minchin and comedian Ross Noble who was compere for the evening, Stand Up and Rock promised to be an evening to remember full of great music and hilarity . In aid of long running charity Crisis at Christmas, the event aimed to raise vital funds for this amazing charity that provides help and much needed assistance for the homeless and vulnerably housed people. With the event in aid of this remarkable charity, one other special musical guest that was added to the bill was The Choir With No Name; a musical choir consisting of homeless people, susceptible people in society and clients of Crisis. The choir itself has performed in the past alongside Coldplay and were once again happy to perform and raise awareness and funds for Crisis at Christmas. WinkBall reporters Fred and Laurent were at the Hammersmith Apollo to speak to fans at Stand Up and Rock to talk to them about this exciting event. With Crisis at Christmas celebrating forty years as a charity, reporters were asking attendants how important a charity such as Crisis at Christmas is for raising awareness over the issue of homelessness? Britain are the fifth most generous country in terms of charity, reporters were also asking what they think makes Britain such a giving country? With the event showcasing an array of top comedic and musical talent, fans were also asked who they were looking forward to seeing perform and at the end of the evening what their overall impressions were?
